KidsRock
Partnering with parents in making disciples
Mission of KidsRock
Our desire is to come along side parents and support them in the mission of making disciples within the home. Providing training, resources, and a loving environment focused on God’s Word. We desire for our kids to experience the love of Jesus and what it means to know and follow Him. Preparing them with a biblical foundation rooted in Gospel truth and the love of God.
Age Groups
-

Nursery
For Ages 0-18 months
In this room infants and young toddlers will be welcomed by trained volunteers. Our desire is to be as helpful as possible when checking in your child to attend church service. The room schedule includes times of play, listening to music, reading books, and snack. During snack, volunteers will also briefly pray aloud over the children while attending to room needs.
-

Toddlers
For Ages 19 months - 3 years
In our toddler room, the room schedule includes times of play, listening to music, a Bible story, and snack. The Bible story is age appropriate so they can understand/engage easily. During snack, volunteers will also briefly pray aloud over the children while attending to room needs.
-

Pre-K
For Ages 3-5 years
In this room older toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy time playing and then engage in a prepared Bible lesson. Each lesson includes teaching through a selected passage while including an activity to follow. Snack is also served during the teaching time! We emphasize the value of prayer by taking prayer requests anonymously and then giving them out to parents so they can be praying for a different child within their class.
-

Elementary
For Ages 6-11
In this room, all children attending are given a whole group activity that connects to the Bible lesson for the morning. We divide the children into groups (K-2nd & 3rd-5th) to help with reading and discussion of the planned passage. The volunteers are passionate about teaching this age group God’s Word and asking them deeper questions. At the end of discussion, prayer requests are taken and leaders pray with each age group. Each month children will practice memorizing a verse and keep track of the verses in a provided Memory Verse Sticker Book.
Family Services
Every First Sunday of the Month
On the first Sunday of each month our elementary aged kids join our parents in service. The presence of our kids during this service helps engage another opportunity for discipleship within the home as the whole family attends the same service. Our kids witness the involvement of their parents in worship and it also encourages on-going conversations post service for parents to have greater conversations about God’s Word and the teaching.
FAQs
-
Volunteers are trained by our Kids Rock Director Jessica Hartle. They must complete an interest form (includes experience, testimony, doctrinal statement agreement), then a background check. After that they have a 30 min training with Jessica covering all policies, procedures, and room routines/lessons. Then they must observe one Sunday before being added to the schedule.

We use the The Biggest Story Curriculum (https://www.thebiggeststory.com/about/)

We use a sticker tag system that syncs with the Check Ins app that every room leader has. When children are checked in, a tag is printed with their name and a unique number that matches another tag that the parent keeps. In order to pick up their child, the parent/guardian must show this tag to make sure the numbers match. Room leaders keep a roster of those children checked in so no child is ever in the room that hasn't been first checked in. In addition to that, we have a security team of 2-3 men who walk the halls and monitor entrances. They have radios as do every KidsRock room leader so they can communicate with them easily. Lastly, our rooms adhere to ratios to make sure that volunteers can be attentive and responsive to the number of children in their room (no less than 2 volunteers per room).
